KYLE EDMUND insists he will take great belief from his run to the US Open last 16 despite his campaign ending with a heavy defeat to Novak Djokovic.Edmund was playing in the fourth round of a grand slam for the first time and making his debut in Arthur Ashe Stadium but Djokovic taught the youngster a lesson with a 6-2 6-1 6-4 victory.The 21-year-old was outclassed by the world number one but remained upbeat after enjoying a tournament that saw him knock out Richard Gasquet and John Isner, ranked 15th and 21st respectively.

Edmund often troubled the world number one with his trademark huge forehands but it wasn't enough to stop the Serb from cruising to a two set lead in dropping only three games.The third set was a far tighter affair, Edmund hanging in gamely to twice break Djokovic from 2-0 down to move 3-2 ahead.But the Brit couldn't quite maintain the high level of intensity against such a good retriever and Djokovic responded to break back twice to seal victory.
