The Tennis Integrity Unit has launched an investigation into irregular betting patterns on a first-round women's singles match at the U.S. Open, a spokesman for the sport's anti-corruption watchdog said Wednesday.The TIU received a "match alert" from Fonbet, a Russian bookmaking company, after 15th-seeded Timea Bacsinszky of Switzerland defeated Vitalia Diatchenko of Russia, 6-1, 6-1, on Aug. 30."We can confirm that we did receive an alert on that match and are looking into it," TIU spokesman Mark Harrison told the Daily News.
