In addition, the women's team had all eight of its members recognized as ITA Scholar-Athletes, while the men's team had six student-athletes named ITA Scholar-Athletes. The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or above. The Chanticleer women's tennis program boasted a combined 3.866 GPA to lead all of Coastal's athletic programs for the second straight year. It is the 19th consecutive year that the women have received ITA All-Academic Team honors.

Women's Tennis Named ITA All-Academic; Two Scholar-Athletes

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team the ITA announced Tuesday. Barco was also a selection to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll and Spring All-Academic Team.In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (including freshman through senior year).The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). Patton, with a 4.0 GPA through both semesters, received the Southern Conference Commissioner's Medal for Academics and earned a spot on the SoCon Academic Honor Roll and Spring All-Academic Team. This is the seventh year in a row the Mocs have earned the team academic honor from the ITA.Barco and Patton were each named to the Chattanooga Dean's List and Athletics Director's Honor Roll.

Wesleyan Tennis Earns ITA All-Academic Awards

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Six members of the Wesleyan University women's tennis team, and four members of the men's squad were named 2017 Division III Scholar Athletes, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). In addition, both the men's and women's tennis programs earned All-Academic Team honors. Representing the women's team were Aashli Budhiraja '18, Dasha Dubinsky '18, Helen Klass-Warch'18, Ella Lindholm-Uzzi '17, Nicole McCann '18 and Victoria Yu '19. Both programs were also named an ITA All-Academic Team for posting a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). On the men's side, Steven Chen '18, Jonathan Holtzman '20, Michael Liu '17 and Jake Roberts '17 all earned praise.
