Lawn Tennis Association president Martin Corrie has temporarily "stepped aside" as the governing body investigates the method a committee he was on dealt by a sexistassault allegation. Corrie was a member of Hertfordshire province LTA's executive committee while an allegation concerning a coach was addressed in 2004. The LTA has commissioned a new investigation next a complaint about that process that was made final December. "As we are all aware, upholding the top levels in dealing by safeguarding matters is important to the whole of English tennis. The LTA has robust governance processes in place today to ensure that impartial investigations are undertaken into all such statuses."

LONDON (Reuters) - Martin Corrie, the president of UK's Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), has stepped aside Suspended an investigation into the treating of a 2004 sexistassault allegation versus a coach. The LTA said on Monday it received a complaint final December about a status concerning a coach who worked at Hertfordshire province LTA while Corrie was a member of which body's Executive Committee. The coach was investigated & sanctioned with the LTA Disciplinary Committee at the time. An LTA statement said it had undertaken a complete internal description & commissioned a more independent investigation. Corrie said it was right for him to step aside temporarily during the investigation.

Corrie's deputy, David Rawlinson, going to replace him in the short term as the LTA works out of the investigation. Corrie said: "This status worries a coach who worked at Hertfordshire province LTA who was investigated & sanctioned by the LTA disciplinary committee … in licence by the board of the LTA, I believe it is right for me to step aside during this investigation."The status returned to the break news final December, days after the LTA had apologised for unsuccessful to act sooner versus Dan Sanders, a coach based in Wales who admitted 7 counts of sexistactivity by a minor. Facing appeals that action had not been taken in the Hertfordshire status either, the LTA released an internal description & then an independent investigation.
