The new courts in the hamlet in Huntington have less than 10 feet, while the sides are about 2 feet short of the recommended 12 feet.

The fences behind the tennis courts at Sweet Hallow Park in Melville are too close to the court. Brand-new multi-million dollar tennis courts on Long Island were closed to the public because of a critical design error — they are too small. "If they were my contractors, I would have sued every one of them," the player told the station. Because of an unenforced error by town planners, the courts don't have enough clearance between the baseline and the fence.
